at least you have a scale .... whether high or low ....
in my part of the world ... things are upside down .... price scales depends
on anything but cost, training and experience ..
a cardiac procedure can cost almost from 6500 L.E .... "ONE USD $ = 5.75 L.E
Egyptian Pounds" up to 65,000 L.E. .... the variables in the governing
equation are complex and irrelevant to the surgical service provided ....
!!!
the Salary range of a university Professor of cardiothoracic Surgeon ....
ranges from 1250- 2270 L.E. a month...
Private practice is different .... average surgeon's fee almost 5000- 10000
L.E ... per procedure ...... only if you have the right connections to
operate in the right hospital for the right patient .... experience is a
third degree variable in the equation ... !! .... referring cardiologist
are third - fourth degree non qualified rank, referring to the hospital
subject to how much goes back into their channels ...!!! ... ranking of
Surgeons -even in private cases- is an arbitrary chaotic issue governed by
pure governmental bureaucratic administrators -they control the referrals
from paying companies-, subject to how much is channeled back into their own
personal streams ....
P.S.
Useful references:
- an average family of 4 persons, would need for an average low middle class
life, almost 7000-10,000 a month ... !!!
- an average belly dancer can amount from 800- 10,000 for 20 minutes ...
- a University Administrator -Dean, Rector and their Deputies- amount to
100,000-150,000 a month !
- many families run on less than a 100-150 L.E. a month ...
- the number of last year Mercedes and Jaguars in the streets of Cairo ....
is tremendously increasing ...
- many families run on astronomical numbers ... of 6-7 figures ... a month
..!!
