Prasanna,
Generally heat exchangers of this sort have a tight coil  (can be  plastic) 
immersed in the heating/cooling fluid. There is a big enough area  of blood on 
the inner surface of the tubing  and a short enough  distance within it for 
the heat/cold gradient to work. I am sure you are  familiar with them. 
What I suspect is that, in your role as a dictionary/encyclopedia  leader, 
you are keeping the language use in order.Keep up the good  work!
