This was such an interesting posting. But so typical of stories about Dr.  
DeBakey. The man defies logic and all common reasoning. One side note,  
however.... when I was working in Seattle with Dr. Sauvage in the late 80's, we  also 
had a vascular fellow named Malay Patel.... I wonder if it is the same  person 
and boy, he gets around!
