[HSF] More Bad News About Trasylol

2 months back a patient who had undergone transfusions 2 years back and
with no h/o sexual exposure or any high risk behavior came back HIV
positive and we interpreted it as a possible transmission during the
window period. She was HIV negative at the time of surgery.
Now that its adding to the situational mess !!! Transfuse and be damned
- Aprotinin and be damned !! It may not be HIV tomorrow but some new
virus which we have not identified !! remember that serum samples from
the 60's are now shown to be HIV +ve and we did not know about the
disease then !!
