My ire against drug and device companies - they think we are morons.
I think a better strategy is for them to admit that it does and can ATN
and it is to be used with caution like any other drug matching risk
versus benefit. Unfortunately these fellows (like Vioxx) market it like
as if it is a panacea. I was stunned to find them marketing Rofecoxib to
my dentist and they tried to market Valdecoxib in my cardiac institute
as a postoperative pain killer !! These companies lose it when greed
overtakes common sense and they try to over extend indications.
Aprotinin in my opinion is a useful drug if used wisely and selectively.
Using it every time is a recipe for disaster.
