Hal,
Even with NAT the HIV window period still exists and has not been 
eliminated. The risk of transfusion is never eliminated. It is just 
reduced. The case I was referring to was one case documented over an 
estimated approx of nearly 100 000 transfusion units. This is within 
unfortunately the estimated risk of transfusions.
