Uithoff's syndrome is flaccidity  due to temperature lateration in multiple
sclerosis. A history of weakness accelerated by a warm bath is classical
and should warn the  surgeon of possible problems of weaning the ventilator
postoperaively if inadvertent temperature mismanagement occurs.
