AW: AW: [HSF] a carotid and coronary case

Roberto I mentioned 18 Deg based on the cases that I had with a complex
endartrectomy for aortoarteritis with extended patching. As I said it
also depends on the estimated time you would need and possibility of
placing a shunt. My rough estimate would be > 1/2 an hour - 18 deg , 1/2
hour- 15 min 22 Deg and 10-12 min 28 Deg.(If I was to do it on CPB -
otherwise pre CPB only shunt clean and patch. The cases I did were all
having horrible periarterial fibrosis , and when I opened the occluded
side with the hope of finding a lumen it was terrible inside. The
patients needed an aortic valve replacement in 2 cases and an aortic
endartrectomy in one more patient. Preferred to do it cold and did not
regret it as the patch needed to go nearly into the mastoid (the young
girl who would collapse on standing) with excision of the styloid
process!! The lumen looked worse than the angiogram.
