  If you go back and reread the thread in its entirety, you will see  that 
I'm very ambivalent as to how Dave has handled this case.  In fact, if  
presented with the same situation, I'm sure I would do as I'm taught.  As  you can 
probably tell, my general policy is to fix everything in one  sitting.  It really 
pains me to be forced to leave a significant lesion  behind at the time of 
surgery.  However, in Dave's particular case, staging  the procedure may end up 
with a live patient, which I'm not sure would have  happened if the patient 
had been conventionally treated.  We can't always  do things in a binary 
fashion.  That's what makes a large part of medicine  and surgery an art.
