Gabi,
  You touched upon a very important point.  When speaking with  patients, I 
always try to use their language when explaining what needs to be  done.
Your 
surgeon going in there and reeling off that patient had 3vd  with LAD and CX

dz shows a complete disconnect between the surgeon and the  patient.  When I

speak of the LAD, I call it the artery on the front side  of the heart.  My
exam 
rooms have lots of pictures so that the valve  problems can be illustrated.

I think it's intellectual sloth and a certain  elitism when doctors use 
terminology that the average patient has no hope of  comprehending.
