This is a kludge, a way to get around the limitations imposed by the
ISP and its workings. One of the issues is concern about passing on
viruses etc.
Jon may stop us, but all who wish to view the movies on Micros..t
Windoze Machines will have to do a bit of fiddling.
.mov is a Quicktime extension. It identifies the file as being
created by Quicktime and needs to be played by Quicktime. You may be
able to play it using Windows Media Player or another freeware or
shareware programme. You can download Quicktime for FREE from Apple's
website.
Yes it may be easier to allow those other extensions, but that may
have effects the ISP does not want to manage or does not need to
manage.
I believe we would be better establishing a separate site - Youtube
was suggested where movies etc can be uploaded and viewed without all
these sideways moves. After all, we are supposed to be intelligent
cardiac surgeons (one might wonder sometimes) and computers today are
not rocket science. Unilke many we know, they do as they are told -
well nearly always.
