I use it if the patient has significant tricuspid disease with all the
physical signs of it. In addition I used in cirrohtics who occasionally come
in for some procedures. The way I give it is the following
10 mg of Vitamin K1 i.v. over ten minutes by given by a physician. Depending
on the situation it can be repeated daily for three days. We used to see
valves in the extreme and that was part of the preop preparations for them.
That was then but now most of the work is CABG
By the way the protocol I described is written in a very popular book for
pre and post op care for CT residents. I remember the regimen from my
residency days and I have used when needed since I started my practice.
