[HSF] Cardiac arrest after redo CABG in a young patient

Dear Dr.Zou,
Here is  a story of successfull sternal reopening in ICU:
2 weeks ago , male67 y/o underwent OPCAB X 4. Preop Creatinine  2.5 .Postop 3.rd hour Vf which didn't respond to Defibrilation( K 6.7).Arrived in 5 minutes  still VF.Opened the chest in nonsterile  condition and while doing cardiac massage and repeated defibrilation put the purse sutures for going on CPB.After 10 minutes and just before aortic cannulation the rhythm returned. No need for CPB.More than 20 minutes of global ischemia . IABP and inotropics and washed the wound with diluted povidone and put 3.rd generation cephalosporine powder. Slowly decreased the inotropes and IABP in the next 3 days.Creatinine went up to 3.1 but then returned. Chest tubes remained for 8 days and finally he was sent home at 10.th day. Happy end.
