Ani,
  Obviously, I agree with everything you said.  As I said in the  talk, we 
screen all patients with CTA's of the aorta, iliacs, and femorals to  detect 
occult stenoses or exophytic plaques that could make CPB dangerous.   In 
addition, the right chest is perfused with CO2 the entire time.  Rarely  is a bubble 
seen on TEE.
