I am not Herr Battellini, but Signore Battellini...like Mancini, Fellini,
and others coming from Le Marque, near Ancona, where Giuseppe Resigno lives.
I am reading now the Faust of Goethe, ( I know there are other Dr Faust) but
not read Heine.
By the way, in my garden we have an incredible oak 100 years old, I can send
you a photo from it, send me a mail to robertobattellini at hotmail.com so we
do not disturb the Forum.
Roberto

Prasanna...you get around, don't you!!! ;) Nobody can ever say you are not

well rounded.
Heinrich Heine wrote the most beautiful poetry. This one is not some kind
of nationalistic verse...but he wrote it while he was abroad and homesick.
He must have been homesick...because he finds the sound of his native German

sounding good! Well, that's just not so. ;) Do you disagree, Herr
Battellini?

Gabi

Once I had a lovely fatherland.
The oak
Grew there so high, the violets gently swayed.
It was a dream.
I felt a German kiss, heard German words
(One can hardly believe how good it sounded)
The phrase: "I Love you"
It was a dream.
