Tohru,
  I believe you!!  Like I said, I'm glad you've joined us.   Personally, I've 
never done a aortic root remodeling.  Those patients I  send to experts like 
Tom Martin.  I strongly feel that a surgeon should  electively do cases within 
his scope of expertise.  If I really wanted to  become adept at valve sparing 
procedures, I would spend time with a surgeon who  does a lot of them and 
learn to nuances inherent to such a complicated  procedure.  I would also attend 
many meetings and wet labs devoted to the  subject.  Our specialty has become 
much too complicated for one surgeon to  be a master of all aspects of the 
field.
