I have used digoxine preoperatively in cases of pneumonectomy, however,
digoxine increases automaticity of the left atrial muscles, though reducing
it at the AVN cells, with resulting worsening of ATRIAL fibrillation but
CONTROLLED transmitted rhythm to the PROTECTED "then" ventricles. i.e. a
final controlled RATE, but worsening automaticity. ? Effects in NSR patients
to undergo MV procedures ? I tend to prevent AF through keeping high S.K+ in
high normal range, with supplements of Magnesium, if not used in
Cardioplegia.
