Dear Dr.Frater,
Since I am personally interested in the conduct of the heart-lung machine( sometimes act as perfusionist while my younger colleagues operate) I pay full attention to all the parameters you've mentioned to prevent hemolysis ,but still if CPB time is more than 300 minutes there will be hemolysis in all types of roller pumps and to a much lesser degree in centrifugal pumps due to nonphysiologic environment in the pump head.
