Incidentally did you consider releasing the posterobasal chordae. I
always do it in rheumatic repairs where there is usually a retraction of
all the P segments. It helps to "unroll" the leaflets and increase the
coaptation area In fact I rarely have to do leaflet augmentation in
rheumatics as long as I do a good posterobasal chordal release.(In fact
it can be a good determinant of the ability to do a rheumatic repair.
