Well Hal,
I went and did some homework.
The angle is narrow if it is less than 120 Deg. So it gives an objective
number to your eyeballing.
First described in
Mihaileanu S, Marino JP, Chauvaud S, Perier P, Forman J,Vissoat J, et al.

I got one color figure from a Japanese article which looks fantastic
(some resarch on a pulse duplicator but which I cannot understand
anything off !!)
