[HSF] Pre op room air blood gases.

Michael,
we do a preop ABG in the following circumstances :
1.A long history of smoking
2.clinical or radiologic  findings of lung diseases.
3.history of lung diseases.
it is a cheap test and properly used very helpful.still with the above protocol ı sometimes miss some cases.in my opinion a good and through evaluation of the patient is the  most important determining factor.
