Tomas,
  To be honest, I thought your symposium that I attended back in 2000  was 
very stimulating and informative.  In addition to lectures on OPCAB  given by 
the earliest pioneers of the procedure, there were numerous talks on  minimally 
invasive valve surgery.  The point of my post was that a surgeon  was doing a 
webcast on OPCAB as if it had just been invented.  Heck, you  and many other 
surgeons, myself included, did our 1st OPCAB's years ago.   The technique is 
well established.  I feel the surgeon should look for  something a bit more 
fresh, that's all.  Like you, I believe the specialty  must continue to evolve if 
we are to remain relevant.  With only 27  applicants for 120 training slots in 
North America, it is obvious that radical  change is inevitable.
