I did a peculiar case - labeled tight MS (MVOA on Echo 0.8 cm2 with LA 
body clot in Afib.- I had seen the Echo myself personally)
Patient underwent an LA thrombectomy . When I delamellated the LA body 
clot from the LA posteriorly, along the IAS , appendage and then towards 
the mitral orifice where I could pel it off the Mitral valve. When I saw 
the valve now, the valve looked pretty OK- minimal commissural fusion 
and otherwise could admit a 23 Hegar !!. The MS was caused by the 
adherent clot obstructing the orifice too. I did nothing for the MVother 
than a little "digital release" of the commissures and an eMAZE.
Patient is doing well in NSR and with an MVOA 2.6 cm2.
I have not seen this before - Patients with this sort of large LA body 
clots invariably have tight MS. This was highly unuusual - any one else 
has seen such a thing ?
