Just for clarity. Can one qualify as a curmudgeon without any sage insights, or does that change the category to the more usual jackass and etc?

  I'll try not to be offended by your remarks, knowing your  curmudgeonly 
lovable personality.  The TEE measurements we made on this  lady were not "crap". 
We made these measurements in the long and short  axis by planimetry.  The 2 
measurements are then averaged.  Whether it  was 8 or 10%, without a doubt, 
it was a truly horrible preop ventricle.   Since you've actually seen me do a 
similar case, you know that what I'm doing  works.
