Michael,

  At the last STS, the 2 year mortality for DES left mains was  18%.  I can
almost guarantee you that surgical treatment of LM disease is  substantially
better.  Also, the patient doesn't have to live under a sword  of Damocles
with the threat of subacute thrombosis from stopping the  Plavix.
Parenthetically, I spoke to a cardiologist yesterday in a busy  group.  He
said they just made the decision to completely abandon the use  of DES.  The
tide is definitely shifting.
