Actually with a mechanical valve in the aortic position this patient will  
not be a candidate for a catheter based procedure in the future, at  least for 
the aortic prosthesis.  In discussing valve options with  patients now the 
opportunity for a catheter based option in case of valve  failure is part of the 
decision tree with the selection of a mechanical valve  eliminating the 
possibility of a percutaneous valve in the future.  There  is no way to deploy a 
catheter or apical based valve through a bileaflet  mechanical prosthesis.
