Slits work just fine. Having trouble with all your distals over time? I have 
done hundreds following my original mentor who did thousands proximally.

  Interesting solution.  Regarding the inflow:  Did you  excise an ellipse of 
aorta, or did you just make a slit?  If the latter was  done, I would be 
concerned that the slit might be inadequate with time.
