One of those futile LVADs we do will pay for double gloving of the entire hospital for the year.
Wonder how your LVAD scene is going - I am switching another one off tonight - another 250,000 US healthcare dollars gone!
When Tea responded to my question asking how he paid for the Chase SVR balloons his answer made me reflect - the money is there, depends on what we chose to spend it on (same applies in all health systems - all down to how you ration the resources you do have. For example I find it interesting when erdinc can fund a complex reoperation on the aortic root yet cannot fund a seldinger cannula to use on those odd occasions it may be helpful - we all make choices).
