Just sent a 35 year old HM XVE home today post op day 12. We have another 62 yr old HM2 bridge ready to go home or rehab any day now (done off pump - i see you stole our idea w the jarviks). Listed 2 bridges this week for xplant - one went to the OR with CPR in progress on a sunday the other was almost as bad.

The patients and families are happy to be with their loved ones.

So how is it going? You tell me.

Michael

One of those futile LVADs we do will pay for double gloving of the entire hospital for the year.

Wonder how your LVAD scene is going - I am switching another one off tonight - another 250,000 US healthcare dollars gone!

When Tea responded to my question asking how he paid for the Chase SVR balloons his answer made me reflect - the money is there, depends on what we chose to spend it on (same applies in all health systems - all down to how you ration the resources you do have. For example I find it interesting when erdinc can fund a complex reoperation on the aortic root yet cannot fund a seldinger cannula to use on those odd occasions it may be helpful - we all make choices).
