Michael,

Sounds like your VAD days been brighter lately. I think I have been sent to purgatory for my past sins regarding various acts of prolonging life and death so have not done a VAD for four weeks. For the first time in many months today I do not have a single VAD patient in ICU - sometimes I have four or five.

I have a transplant to do in an hour so maybe my repentance has been accepted. Tell us more about the 2 xplants - is that some new device or do you mean you are explanting the VADs? Do you have a recovery protocol? Also did not realize you still used XVE - what is your current indication.

It is farcical that the editors will not publish your off-pump VAD experience, probably the largest in any center to date.
