Looks like we have plenty of people willing to share their views for nothing. Imagine that.
Some guys from Parkland who became cardiac surgeons inspite of living the life of a trauma surgeon, organized a meeting for the last couple of years for the same where the participants supply the content. Since no one generally pays anyone to talk and everyone talks about something they prefer to talk about without veto by those that organize the meeting, the ideas are pretty open ended and it is unpredictable before the talks (about 20 minutes each with 10 discussion as to which will be the most helpful. Perhaps we could use a fore shortened format similar to that. We need a time and place and can arrange funding as required AFTER we get the details and attendance we ourselves desire rolling...
If we run into funding problems there is a local surgeon that purports to be very busy...
Comments?

Ed,
Actually, a poorly done mitral repair is pretty evil. Over the years,
I've been referred some failed repairs where it would have been much preferred
that the surgeon had not even considered a repair (heavily calcified annulus,
unaddressed severe tenting, etc.).
Anyway, I've got my money on Ben should we actually have this aprotinin
debate. When he's in action, look out!
Hal
