[HSF] Packing

I have used packing exclusively in aortic root cases where there is still oozing from hidden parts of the operation.Maintain intubation for the operation day and then at postop 1 open the chest and take out the sponges and clean the mediastinum in the ICU . Never had a case of rebleeding.Never had infection in one of these caese. never have used other procoagulant substances . Appearantly the sponges do the job perfectly.
