Dear Dr. Frater,
Obviously I have missed your previous mail. There are 3 echo machines and only 1 TEE probe in our hospital. The most prbable and effective way od doing intraop echo is to get the cardiology people support at the time being. Most probably I will be waiting for them to arrive in some cases but there is nothing to do at the time being.

Epicardial echo can produce superb images which you can correlate very well with the anatomy that you have learned through being a heart surgeon. The difficulty is that your anesthesiologist must know which knobs to turn and how to turn them to get the images right. With a trained anesthesiologist you will find yourself getting excellent pictures of normal and abnormal anatomy that are acrtually easier to relate to what you see in the open heart. Although not continuous the epicardial echo can be instantly available throughout an operation if it is yours. The hospital would needto agree to pay for servicing the machine from time to time,> Bob> -----Original Message-----> From: erdinç naseri <enaseri at hotmail.com.tr>> To: openheart-l at lists.hsforum.com> Sent: Sat, 23 Feb 2008 1:33 pm> Subject: RE: [HSF] intraop TEE> > > > > al,> ll your precious recommendations are well taken but when it comes to the > ospital adminstration I have to spend the energy of a maraton race to make a > istance of only 100 meters.( hope I could clarify the situation here) . > egarding TEE ,this is the 1.st step and when the cardiology people don't give > he neccessary support then will come the 2.nd step and that would be the > raining of anesthsiology people and also - and this is very important- me.> ope my plan will work.> rdinc> ______________________________________________> penHeart-L mailing list> Send postings to:> OpenHeart-L at lists.hsforum.com> To UNSUBSCRIBE, to CHANGE email address, or to view archives:> ttp://mmp.cjp.com/mailman/listinfo/openheart-l> All messages transmitted by the OpenHeart-L are subject to the policies and > isclaimers posted at:> ttp://www.hsforum.com/listdisclaim> ----------------------------------------> > > ________________________________________________________________________> More new features than ever.
