Yes I do think omentum works and we have used it in pts that have had root replacements or ascendings that subsequently develop mediastinitis (not endocarditis) and have had excellent results. We have not used it on a primary op for endocarditis though.

Thanks for sharing such a tough case. I hope your voodoo really work!
However let me ask you a question. Are there any role of omentum, like
wrapping around the new valved conduit and/or obliterating space around the
new root. Do you think that it works for preventing further infection of the
root? Or have you had the experience?
