[HSF] Access to AV groove area post bypass

When we do OM    anastomosis close to the AV   groove   in cases with CABG and mitral valve replacement.   We find it difficult to visualise the OM area to inspect for bleeding post CPB. 
   
  Any tips about it? [We do not do beating heart CABG]
  Would It be useful to use posterior pericardial traction sutures as used for OM exposure in beating heart cases?
