Dear members,
Regarding CEA we must not forget that:
1.The evidence for the benefit of CEA in asymptomatic patients is far less than symptomatic ones.( this has been proved by NACET,ACE,ESCET and all other studies)
2.CVA in the setting of open heart surgery can be due to cardioembolism, lacunar infarction and large artery infarction and the last is the least important.
3. Most of the CVA due to carotid disease are due to atheroembolism and not hypoperfusion of stenosed lumen.
