John Brown presented his redo coarcs yesterday at the STS, and only 1
required CPB, and it was in a young child who also needed transverse arch repair.
There were a number of adults in the series as well. The majority were
repaired (all via L thoracotomy except the one who they did on CPB through a
sternotomy) using 2 techniques, either patch angioplasty with prosthetic material or
simply redo-ing the coarc repair. It would be an extremely unusual case that
would require an interposition graft done of CPB. Could you describe the
case you are considering using this technique to repair?
