Articles like these are common. They "prove" what they advocate. Left or social (the equality equivalent of liberalism) is good; America (the liberty equivalent of liberalism) is bad.

This article would suggest that the reason other countries have better
health outcomes is not because they avoid seeing doctors but quite the opposite,
that is the universal availability to see doctors more regularly which results
in a higher rate of health maintenance, rather than costly and ineffective
care for late stage sickness. To suggest staying away from the medical system
is the key to better health is nonsense and our growing population of
uninsured who lack access to routine healthcare reflects our systems declining
success in promoting a healthy, long living population.
A highly industrialized country, like the United States, with poor diets
laced with highly processed foods of little nutritional value and an
increasingly sedentary lifestyle resulting in an epidemic of obesity, diabetes,
hypertension, and atherosclerosis, to name just a few deleterious consequences of
"prosperity", probably needs MORE regular medical attention, advice and
counseling rather than the remarkable decline we are currently seeing with
obvious negative public health consequences due to the growing masses of uninsured.
