Here is an exchange that Roberto and I have had. The image he sent me (which HSF has removed) is a page from Donald Doty's atlas, describing totally inaccurately, a Nick's procedure as an incision between the left and noncoronary leaflets down intothe subaortic triangle  (or curtain)

Dear Roberto this is quite astonishing. Doty whom I have known as a meticulous honest man was clearly careless in this instance. Pressure to publish? doing things at the last minute? thought he was right (the normal, necessary surgical arrogance that makes it possible for us to do our work at all), thought he did not need to check his sources? 
What about the publisher? Were there not editorial people checking the text, checking the references? I am sure there were but they were probably more concerned that the page numbers to a reference were accurate than that the content was true.

as a question of Honour, I returned to the library to copy from Donald Doty´s book the photos we posted to the HSF, wrong drawings from Doty, which Bob said should be burn.
The rest of the literature show that Bob is right, why Doty commited this error?.
Should we comment this in the forum?
