Even for bioprosthesis eg. Perimount? Nothing?
You know, in Germany 2-3 months must be given, as once a patient won a legal
cause because of hemiplegia, he was not receiving warfarin.
We are allowed not to give after 80 years old to avoid bleeding in the
elderly.

Roberto when we did the Perimount trial in 1981-1983 early anticoagulation
was optional. Less than 20% were anticoagulated. (The surgeons in the trial
clearly thought for themselves).
The early mortality was low.. Guess what the commonest cause of death was in
the first few weeks?
It was pericardial tamponade in patients who had returned home on coumadin.
By the way are you saying that the guidelines in Germany are not suggestions
but edicts which must be obeyed?
