I don't leave the OR with moderate MR either. He has good data, or rather Marisa does, so ask her. Or i can.

  That's what I figured.  My experience is much different,  probably because 
I won't allow a patient like that to leave the OR with even  moderate MR.  I 
believe we owe a great debt to Menicante for his  development of this 
operation.  However, I don't at all agree with his  policy of repairing the mitral 
valve with a ventricular side DeVega.  At  the last ISMICS in Rome, after his SVR 
presentation, I questioned Menicante as  to the long term echo data for his 
patients.  It didn't sound like he  really had much.  As you know, it is 
increasingly evident in the literature  that DeVega's don't hold up as well as rings 
in either the mitral or tricuspid  positions.  Why should this be any 
different?
