Tomas,
I'm definitely intrigued with your arterial perfusion of the lungs during the pump run. What parameters are you measuring to demonstrate benefit?

Beating heart with all graft open and heart perfused antegrade/rretrograde

Graft are done off pump first or with heart beating om pump

Lungs perfused and ventilated during pump run

Tomas,
We are talking valve surgery as well. I assume you still use the pump for for non catheter based valve procedures.

I suspect double cardioplegia is simultaneous antegrade and retrograde.
Unless the patient has a lot of AI, I always use this on induction. After the
heart is open, I use an octupus that gives retrograde and down the grafts, if
any.
